Aria Pro II John Joyce 12 String
Aria introduced the John Joyce signature models in the mid 1970s. These were designed by 12 string British folk and blues player John Joyce. Joyce was also responsible for the design of Aria's popular Sandpiper model.
The John Joyce model was available as either a 6 or 12 string. Here we have a slightly rarer 12 string version for sale. The design was a result of Joyce's long experience of playing and restoring early American country-blues acoustic guitars. You can see the traditional influence in the slotted headstock and narrow waisted body shape - like one of the old Stella acoustics. The guitar has a solid sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides and a pyramid bridge. The slotted headstock has a gold foil JJ logo.
This is a great sounding guitar with an incredibly rich timbre and it’s fantastic value considering the hand made nature, top materials used throughout and overall build quality. The saddle has been lowered and it plays with ease.
It’s in great condtion for it’s age, with only a couple of more pronounced dings to the lower treble bout, few other very small superficial dings dotted around and a slight amount of wear to the fretboard in the 1st position and edge of treble soundhole as pictured.
It travels in a decent quality padded gig bag and will be freshly restrung pior to sale.
