Aria Pro II Paul Brett PB-30
Manufactured between 1976-1981 in Japan, these guitars were heralded by ‘Guitarist’ magazine as one of the best acoustic guitar models to come out of the country at the time. From having a quick play of this, it’s difficult to find fault with that comment. It’s a stunningly built guitar, hand made from all solid woods, and it sounds fantastic.
Based on a popular AW-30 model by Aria, this guitar was taken to the next level with changes suggested by the great guitarist Paul Brett himself. It’s based on a classic combination of sitka spruce top with scalloped bracing & mahogany back and sides, but it’s jazzed up with solid maple body, fingerboard & headstock bindings with a marquetry purfling. It also has maple position markers on a lovely, deep, chocolatey rosewood fingerboard.
It plays great as is, with lots of saddle left to reduce the action if required in the future and it’s in fantastic condition for it’s age, with only a few small marks here and there and a slight curling of the pickguard at one point.
It travels in a lovely, protective, soft felt lined hardcase.
