This is the first Gallagher Bluegrass Bell RT model we’ve had in and we can happily say it doesn’t disappoint. It’s an absolute beauty!
The Bluegrass Bell hearkens back to the prewar days of vintage guitars, patterned after a 1937 D-18 and they are certainly creating some waves in the guitar community and with very good reason. This includes a fully torrefied Adirondack or red spruce top, forward shifted X-bracing in the style of the pre war Martins, herringbone trim and rosette, a very comfortable V profile neck, ebony fretboard & bridge and a thinner, ‘vintage luster’, finish which enhances the responsiveness of the guitar. This RT model takes that and supes it even more, with the RT moniker being a nod to the famous 'Tony Rice’ dreadnought. With an enlarged soundhole, which enhances the mid frequencies, a bound and extended fingerboard and a wonderful set of Madagascar rosewood for the back and sides, this one really stands out as a superb sounding guitar.
