Gallagher Custom G50 - Bluegrass Bell
A brand new 2025 Custom Gallagher G50 model specced out in the style of a Bluegrass Bell.
As a new ‘Gallagher Guitars’ dealer and the only one in Europe we’ve just received our first order through and what a beauty it is! Their new range of guitars, called the Bluegrass Bell, hearkens back to the prewar days of vintage guitars, patterned after a 1937 D-18 and they are certainly creating some waves in the guitar community and with very good reason.
This is one of their G50 models customised in the fashion of a Bluegrass Bell, including a fully torrefied Adirondack or red spruce top, forward shifted X-bracing in the style of the pre war Martins, herringbone trim and rosette, tortoise shell bound body, a very comfortable V profile neck, ebony fretboard & bridge and a thinner, ‘vintage luster’, finish which enhances the responsiveness of the guitar.
This one is extra unique in the fact it retains the classic Gallagher ‘French curve’ headstock, rather than opting for the new Bluegrass Bell squared off headstock. This is something which we really like and think is one of Gallagher’s great trademarks.
It’s a fantastic sounding, wonderfully resonant dreadnought with a deep bass and lovely rich, well sustained trebles. As much as it’s designed for bluegrass flatpicking, like any great mahogany dreadnought, it can lend it’s hand to many other styles and would be a great recording guitar in front of any decent microphone.
It travels in a luxury hard case and comes with the full Gallagher Guitars warranty.
